In a conversation earlier this morning, I found myself struggling to articulate a vision statement that I’ve been cooking up in my head for quite some time now.
And then someone really wonderful suggested that I worry less about the statement and more about the vision for now.
She asked that I consider drawing, gathering photographs or clippings, or collecting other artifacts that might reflect this vision that is still taking shape. She suggested that I think about what this thing will ultimately look and sound and smell like not in the immediate future, but when it is really “crackling” as she put it.
“Forget about the words for now,” she told me, and this was something of a relief.
So I’m working on the vision, not the statement.
And I’m really grateful for that conversation.

Hmmmm…Nonlinguistic Representation in action? That’s awesome! Hopefully you’ll share the product of your actions too!
