Tomorrow we’ll be kicking off the first session of the WNY Young Writers’ Summer Studio, and I can’t wait! Last week, I had the opportunity to meet with the teachers who will be joining our community, and the idea of engaging adults and kids around common goals as writers and learners is really exciting. I think that we are all very comfortable in our roles as teachers at the front of the room. This collaborative model will be a new experience for all of us, and I must admit: I’m a bit daunted by the reality of having teachers coaching and critiquing me. I’m looking forward to blogging about the studio as it unfolds and learning a great deal from this experience.
Yesterday, I put a request out over Twitter, inquiring about publishing opportunities for kids. I’m beginning to throw a page of links together for anyone who may be interested. Please feel free to share your own ideas, and if you stumble upon any problems while you’re traveling about, let me know. Thanks!
